We provide technical support for registered users of our software products. WebSurv: support is provided by email and fax as part of its annual maintenance fee. ABstat: Technical support for ABstat is available free to all registered users (but we do not have an 800 number for support). You can contact us for technical support by Email When requesting support, please provide your product serial number and release number (available at the start-up screen or on the labels of your user manual or product disks), and let us know whether it's a Windows or DOS version. Here are answers to the most common support questions for Windows versions of ABstat: How do I get it to print?First you need to run the File|Printer Setup command to define your printer. But you only need to do that command once to define your printer. Once a printer has been defined, it can be used to print any report. To start printing, run the File|Printer On command. Then you do the command(s) which produce the output you want printed. After doing the last command you want printed, run the File|Printer Off command. Your reports will then be sent to your printer. A Windows "print job" doesn't actually print until the job is complete and the job is not complete until you've told it you're done by giving it the Printer Off command. It seems confusing but if you think about it, it's really almost the same as any other windows program: you tell it to print and then tell it What to print (usually a range of pages). The difference here is that "What" isn't a pre-defined set of page numbers but rather any number of printing commands and you haven't completed specifying "what" until you've told it you're done. But to make it less confusing, the latest versions of ABstat also have "Print Next Command" and "Print Last Command" to make printing a single report a one-step operation.I can't get it to add my printer setup. What's the trick? You have an ABstat version earler than 1.92 and are running with Windows-95 or later. Windows is "messing with ABstat's mind". When you get to the printer-setup screen (it's actually part of your printer driver, not part of ABstat) you must make a change to that screen. If you hit OK without changing something, the newer versions of Windows tell ABstat that you really meant to hit the Cancel button so ABstat faithfully cancels the remainder of the setup. Solution: change the Portrait/ Landscape setting before hitting OK. Then, after the setup is complete, go back and Change your printer setup if necessary to change back to the correct Portrait/Landscape setting. This "bug" was fixed in release 1.92. |
