WebSurv: product upgrades are included as part of the annual maintenance fee. ABstat: the remainder of this page pertains to ABstat. Final DOS version is 7.24. It is not compatible with newer machines running Windows-98 and later as characterized by a "Runtime error 200" at start-up. You will need to upgrade to the Windows version. Current Windows version is 1.96. You can upgrade from any release of ABstat for DOS, ABsurv, ABsurv+, WinSTAR, or ABstat for Windows to the latest version of ABstat for either DOS or Windows. While upgrading, you can also purchase additional new copies at a special price. And you can also include our On-Screen option for doing surveys without paper forms. Paper manuals are no longer included with the product as all documentation is now in on-screen help files. See Pricing and How to order for pricing and ordering information. For those with old DOS versions:Windows versions are now available and Network support is available. Automatic backup files are optional and files can be password protected. No more separate versions for math co-processors or various graphics cards and no more "manual check". Files can now have up to 512 variables (questions) and 32,000 cases (records) and provide for true character variables as well as ASCII and floating-point numeric types. Value Labeling is available for all commands, making your reports easier to read. Survey features include multiple choice and all-that-apply question types.ANOVA now includes Newman-Keul's, Duncan, Tukey, Dunnett's, and Scheffe, and works for unequal cell size. Plots and Bar Graphs include standard error and standard deviation bars. Regression includes stepwise. Correlation can now be done with a single variable against the rest as well as the full matrix of all against each other. Tabbed and delimited report output is now available making it easier to share information, especially graphics data, with spreadsheets and graphics programs. File import/export now includes tabbed, delimited, and fixed format ASCII, Lotus version 3, Excel, dBASE 3&4. Box plots, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test, Sample Size Estimates and Confidence Interval commands have been added as well as a RECODE command for converting ranges to coding schemes or changing coding schemes. Batch processing has single-step mode and allows parameter passing and user input requests and there is a macro-record command. Keyboard entry is now optional for doing XTAB and CHIFIT without creating a file. Laserjet and multiple printers are supported. For Survey Users:If you've been using an old ABstat for surveys, you'll really appreciate the new survey features. The banner and stub cross-tabulation report is designed specifically for survey analysis and is extremely easy to use. Multiple-choice and all-that-apply question types are available with reusable "choice tables" that make it easy to specify your own coding schemes and provide automatic "value labeling". The data editor is optimized for fast, reliable entry of multiple-choice data. And if you want to administer your surveys on-screen instead of with paper and pencil, we have a new On-Screen Survey option.On-Screen Survey AdministrationThe On-Screen option is a stand-alone program that provides an alternate data-input method which presents questions individually on-screen and requires no knowledge of ABstat to operate. It's great for doing employee surveys, in-store surveys, surveys at trade shows or shopping malls, telephone surveys or any kind of computer aided interviewing.Its features are basic but it does allow for simple skip patterns. Still Simplest and Easiest!Here's one more "feature" that's becoming more apparent these days as most packages tend to grow beyond all reasonable bounds. ABstat takes less than 1.5 megabytes of disk space! We will need your product serial number to do the upgrade. Customers retain their original serial numbers with each upgrade. The serial number is visible on-screen when you first start up the program. It's also printed on the product diskette labels. We accept checks and company purchase orders.
